The Additions of a New Warehouse and an Analytical Laboratory
Robert Shaw, President of Knox Fertilizer Company, announced today the addition of an extensive addition to their facilities in Knox, Indiana. Shaw said that the need for a new warehousing complex is being added immediately. The facility will add another 120,000 sq. ft. of warehouse and distribution capability to our complex. The demand from customers has necessitated this move, Shaw said. With this addition the finished product storage at Knox will exceed 200,000 sq. ft. and be able to hold over 40,000 tons of lawn and garden and ice melting products for immediate shipment to customers. Also just completed is the addition of a complete analytical laboratory for the purpose of quality assurance and release. With these two new tools, Know will improve its shipments to customers within hours of production if needed. We are entering a new period in our industry, both strategic and quality orientated and we will meet this new challenge this coming year, Shaw said.
I believe that Knox not only has the best people, but by far the finest and most modern NPK and control product, plant in the United States for lawn and garden. We can produce with any of the old chemistry and new chemistry that is out there in the market place today and be able to handle whatever is coming down the pike over the next ten years with our present capabilities. We will continue to respond to the needs of our customers as needed in the future.
Knox Fertilizer is celebrating its 50th year in business this coming September. Products produced have been soil additives, control products and fertilizers for the homeowner, lawn care industry and the golf markets in the Midwest and throughout the United States and abroad.
